Privacy Policy

Effective October 2, 2026

HabitLedger ("we", "us") makes the HabitLedger app for iPhone. This policy explains what information the app handles, why, and the choices you have. We wrote it to be short and plain.

Information you give us

• Habit information: your age, the habits you track (such as cigarettes, nicotine pouches, vaping, alcohol, or caffeine), how much you use, when you started, brand and price estimates, your goal, and, if you track alcohol, your biological sex (used only for guideline comparisons).
• Daily logs: the counts you record each day, which health cards you have read, and your optional mood journal entries.
• Game scores (signed-in users): your best score in each mini-game, shown on worldwide leaderboards next to a randomly generated nickname (such as "Brave Otter 42") and your chosen app avatar. Your name and email are never shown to other players.
• Account information (optional): if you create an account, your email address, or the name and email (or private relay email) Apple shares when you use Sign in with Apple, plus an account ID.

How it is stored

• Without an account, everything stays on your device. We never receive it.
• With an account, your habit information and logs are also saved to our database (hosted by Supabase in the United States) so you can restore them on another device. Each account can only read its own data.

How we use it

Only to run the app: calculating your costs, streaks, medals, and health cards, and syncing your data to your account. We do not use your information for advertising or profiling, and we do not use third-party analytics or advertising tools.

Purchases

Subscriptions are processed by Apple. We never see your payment card details. The app checks with Apple whether your subscription is active.

Sharing

We do not sell or rent your information. We share it only with the service providers that run the app for us (Supabase for account storage, Apple for sign-in and purchases), or if required by law.

Your choices and rights

• Delete your account anytime in the app: Profile › Account › Delete Account. This permanently deletes your account and all data saved to it, and revokes Sign in with Apple.
• Erase this device in Settings › Privacy & data › Erase All Data.
• You can ask us for a copy of your data or to correct it through our support page.

Retention

Account data is kept until you delete your account. Deleted data is removed from our active database right away.

Age

HabitLedger is for adults 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit, and access to account data is restricted to its owner by database security rules.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the app.
